Hopping off the boat and strolling into Voodoo Gili was the most perfect feeling. The sun was reflecting off the pool and the ripples of the water were dancing in the midday sun. The aesthetic of the hotel itself is natural with Island vibes.

Voodoo boasts 10 spacious double rooms with open air sky bathrooms and 10 triple rooms featuring unique jungle inspired bathrooms, all of which have a private poolside balcony. There are also 3 exclusive VIP suites.

This brand new accommodation is clean, fresh and comfortable.

The staff are warm and friendly, they instantly make you feel at home and each of them are well equipped with knowledge of the whole island! They are unbelievably helpful and have everything from Bicycles to delicious cocktails.

Let’s talk about food. It’s no secret that I will travel far and wide for the best vegan food. Not only do Voodoo have the islands most famous burger but they also have an incredible vegan tempeh burger! I think it’s the biggest and best vegan burger on the island.

This place is definitely my number one recommendation for accommodation on Gili T.

About Me

Hi! I am Beth Johnstone, a travel journalist and photographer.

I began travelling in 2014 with what I thought would be a short holiday. I’ve now been travelling around the world full time for five years, taking photographs, writing about the places I’ve been and immersing myself in new cultures.

I am passionate about capturing the whole experience not just with images, but with words too. My blog is a positive place where I welcome readers to learn about the best places to stay, along with tips and advice on long term travel.
