I’ve been doing a heck of a lot of reading lately, mostly travel reading of course. I’m constantly looking for new ideas, new adventures and new dreams to dream. I have been building a list of my favourite travel bloggers for a while, these are the travel blogs that have inspired me, over the years, to create one of my own. So here are the travel bloggers you should be following in 2020.

Unexplored Footsteps

Unexplored Footsteps are a travel couple, Olly and Milly, who met in Australia and have been creating travel guides and beautiful content ever since. Whilst traveling in Vietnam this blog was an absolute lifesaver. I just wish I found out about Unexplored Footsteps sooner! Whether you’re looking for information about how to start a travel blog, packing lists or travel guides, this blog has it all. Milly and Olly have helped me so much on my blogging journey and for that, I am so grateful.

If its Asia you’re heading to, you’ll find a heck of a lot of information here, especially the Philippines. Jackson Groves is also the founder of @adventurebagcrew encouraging people to bring bags on their adventures to remove the plastic from our earth as they explore. Leaving the world in a better condition than you found it is so important in 2020.

Nomadic Matt is the OG of the travel blogging world. I was reading this blog even before I knew what blogging was. Back when I left for my travels In 2014 this was the only travel content I was reading. And now I’ve been traveling full time for 5 years, Nomadic Matt shaped the way I look at long term travel. I seriously owe him.

  1. Long time supporter, and thought I’d drop a comment.

Your wordpress site is very sleek – hope you don’t mind me asking what theme you’re using?
(and don’t mind if I steal it? :P)

I just launched my site –also built in wordpress like yours– but the theme slows (!)
the site down quite a bit.

In case you have a minute, you can find it by searching for “royal cbd” on Google (would appreciate any
feedback) – it’s still in the works.

Keep up the good work– and hope you all take care
of yourself during the coronavirus scare!

    • Hello! Thanks so much for the comment! I’m glad you like my theme! Its the Colibri Theme 🙂 I will check out yours!

About Me

Hi! I am Beth Johnstone, a travel journalist and photographer.

I began travelling in 2014 with what I thought would be a short holiday. I’ve now been travelling around the world full time for five years, taking photographs, writing about the places I’ve been and immersing myself in new cultures.

I am passionate about capturing the whole experience not just with images, but with words too. My blog is a positive place where I welcome readers to learn about the best places to stay, along with tips and advice on long term travel.

“Stop waiting for Friday, for summer, for someone to fall in love with you, for life. Happiness is achieved when you stop waiting for it and make the most of the moment you are in now.”
